James M. Yeretsky has extensive trial experience, having participated in excess of 150 civil and federal criminal jury trials in numerous jurisdictions in North America involving a multitude of legal issues. His trial experience includes matters involving complex product liability, toxic torts and related environmental matters under Super Fund Legislation, "white collar" criminal litigation, municipal liability, railroad and transportation liability, medical and legal negligence, directors' and officers' liability within financial institutions, civil rights actions, including §1981 and §1983, construction litigation and insurance coverage litigation. In addition to his state and federal court trial experience in Kansas, Missouri and Texas, he initially specialized in military law, through his service in the United States Marine Corps. In addition, he has served as general counsel to professional sports franchises, is certified by the Major League Players Association of Major League Baseball, and has represented numerous professional athletes. He has also represented professional sports franchises in litigation on a variety of issues. He is admitted to practice in the States of Missouri, Kansas and Texas. He is also admitted to practice in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, the Defense Research Institute (having once served as the chairman of the Governmental Liability Committee) and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. He received his Bachelor of Arts and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University.
